Governor Tina Kotek has issued a formal request to the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) that the agency hold off on permitting any offshore wind development while the State puts its own roadmap and policies into place.
In the past, BOEM officials have said they would respect the wishes of the State when it comes to permitting projects. The agency’s response to Kotek’s formal request will be the test.
